Take advantage of those holiday sales

Are you ready for the #BlackFriday and #BoxingDay sales this year?

Let’s look at the top 5 things of you need to do to prepare yourself for the upcoming holiday sales to increase your turnover.
It’s got to that time of year again when we all go a little crazy for a bargain. So is your business ready to make a lot of extra cash?

There’s no denying that most of us just can’t resist an item with a discount. For example, I already own two Amazon Echos in my house, I don’t really need another. With that said one of their new models would look particularly pretty on my desk AND Amazon are now teasing me even more with their Black Friday sale they have on.. Must… Resist… Because it’s on sale its playing on my FOMO (Fear Of Losing Out) but I just can’t help it.

So what should you be doing to get yourself ready for these big sale events? Here’s my top 5…

1. Get you tech in place

Make sure that any of your marketing is properly integrated so that you can target (segment) your customers correctly. No point sending a customer a great offer on something that they won’t be interested in.

With mailouts, make sure you’re using some form of analytics to track who is opening what. Google Analytics is great for this and services such as Klaviyo and Mailchimp come with a lot built right in.

Make sure you have a dedicated landing page for your mailout, something that showcases your best offers and importantly when they run out!
Don’t forget to play of their FOMO!

2. Can you take advantage of deal sites?

Customers looking for great deals, but don’t perhaps know about your products, flock to sites such as Groupon and voucher code websites. Definitely go take a look to see what will work for you.
You will often see many of these voucher sites just displaying certain sites current deals, even simple things like free delivery and help generate some traffic.
Don’t forget it also helps build credibility as well as a little boost to some SEO!

3. Get your email campaigns ready

Opening rates for emails jump by up to 60% during events like Black Friday so make sure that you have all of your campaigns ready and don’t be afraid to send them out a bit more regularly than normal.
If you have a physical product to sell then it’s also worth having a look at Amazon and their Lightning Deals – this a an amazing way to get a boost on the listings as well as get some free promotion.

4. Add some extra incentives

Discounts is one thing but customers also love free stuff! If you’re in competition with another business selling a similar product then throw in something extra to give you the edge.

Make sure it’s something related to what you are selling like a USB Hub coming with a free memory stick.

5. Get recording a video

If you’re looking to push your sales on social media platforms then video is your best friend. Video gets far more attention then images so think of some creative ways to showcase your product in a short snappy video that highlights why someone would want to buy.
